Brazil

We flew into Sao Paulo and tried every ATM at the airport to get some local currency out – eventually we got there – almost took us an hour!! We then went to the taxi company that we had read about on the internet (How good is Miss Google for travellers!!?? Fantastic!) We purchased an incredibly expensive ticket to San Vincente which is the closest town to the port where we would embark on our cruise. Realistically it was only mildly expensive because it was quite a distance away – almost an hour!! Lovely views too! Eventually the taxi driver’s little nav man had a heart attack – I’m so glad other peoples navigational systems also play up – we had great difficulty in finding the hotel but eventually it was found – at this point we were really glad we weren’t n the clock in the taxi and we pre paid the ticket as just looking for the hotel took half an hour!

It was raining and we were very tired. Shower and nap and then head out for some food!  As I was just leaving the room this man came out of the room opposite ours and was quite frustrated with the phone in the hallway which admittedly did ring quite often, anyway he was saying exasperatingly ‘This damn phone never stops ringing!” and he picks up the receiver and puts it down again – very funny. I poke my head back into the room to tell Megs and we have a giggle. We head out to find food and go for a walk. This would be a lovely area on a nice day but unfortunately not for us on this day but we did enjoy some local food and drink – I picked the most interesting word on the beverage menu and it was a lovely drink but I’m not sure I could tell you what it was!!

This we knew would just be a stopover before we headed off to the port to get on our cruise – very exciting people!! We are ‘virgin cruises’ ready to be deflowered!!! He he he

Stormy afternoon on the beach at SanVincente

The large Coke can is the starting point for a chairlift that takes you up and over the mountain/hill.

Statue in the middle of ocean - not sure exactly who or why - but very cool.

Last look at the beach before we go to the port to board our ship -very exciting!!
