We entered into the Information Building and was astounded by the exhibits and history that was available - very interesting. After about an hour we stocked up on some food/snacks and headed back up the hill on finding out that there was no shuttle scheduled for the time we were there. It will be fine!!! 6km up hill in the snow whilst snowing is not as easy as it sounds. There were cars that weren't making it and turning round and heading back down the hill BUT not us...we did it slow but we eventually arrived at the dog sledding and magically a TAXI turned turned up and with Meg's comment of "I don't care - I'll pay" we headed into the Taxi for the 3 minutes ride up the last hill - it is a little deceiving as to how far you actually have gone!!! We almost did it - in fact we could have but I'm sure it gave the taxi driver a giggle. I think he felt sorry for us because he only charged us $5 for one passenger!!! $5 got us from one side of Anchorage to the other and that was no matter how many people were in the car!
Relaxed a little and had dinner at the Lodge - now I just have to say that I ordered something called 'pulled pork' which suspiciously tasted like beef?!?! Pulled I gather means just that - pulled off the bone - it looks kind of shredded. I did end the night with a lovely Baileys Hot Chocolate after dinner by the fire and Megs had a Mocha. Very nice evening. Decided on taking up on the Chateau's Activity Special - 4 activities for $150 and we would do this tomorrow. So basically another relaxing day - finished by our spot by the fire to catch up on the Blog and contacting family.
The beginning of our walk to the village
Unusual icicles; so heavy with snow just ready to break
